There are lots of people out there making T and S style guitars, but few do it with the precision and authentic vibe like Charles Whitfill. Believe me, as a guitar shop owner and former Fender employee, I have seen tons of custom Ts from private builders, and we are rarely impressed. So many of them look like they were hit with a belt sander and relic'd by someone who has clearly never actually held a real vintage example.
This guitar rocks! Obviously, the wear is fantastically executed, but overall the guitar is substantial and well-put-together. The build quality is on-par or even better than Fender Custom Shop, and light years ahead of the most of the "custom" versions we see. This one is unmodified, just as it left the Whitfill shop. Tastefully aged! The satin lacquer sunburst finish really stands our on our wall full of glossy bursts. It's an eye catcher, for sure! Freshly setup and restrung. Nice straight neck with almost no visible fret wear on the medium frets.
10" fingerboard radius, full C-shaped neck, .95" at the 12th fret and .84" at the 1st. Ash body.
6lbs 15 ounces. 6/17/15 build date.
This low mileage guitar is ready to rock!
