Vibe. This one has it. All day long!
Made between 1952 and 1955, this lovely blonde H1457 archtop has been tastefully upgraded with modern gear ratio tuners, a faux-tortoiseshell pickguard, and Gibson knobs mounted to a single volume and single tone control for a piezo transducer mounted under the bridge. There is a pickguard-mounted Artec mini-humbucker included, but it never fit great, so we removed it. If it was my guitar, I would reinstall it and possibly recess it into the body, but as it sits unmodified, the action has to be a bit higher than preferred to clear the pickup. The neck has been shimmed for the proper neck angle. There is a crack in the back that has been glued and cleated shut. No signs of abuse on this one! Just normal wear and tear with some typical repairs. Please see photos for condition.
This guitar has a fantastic dark wooly tone that really growls when you dig in. The neck is straight with no issues.
Includes a period correct case that is in great shape! 4.12 pounds
