What a beauty! We love the way Taylors from this era age and mature!
This gorgeous 1988 Taylor 810 Dreadnaught is a treat to play. The guitar is 100% original and unmodified. No extra strap holes and no added electronics. The neck is straight with no issues, the truss rod works in both directions, and fretwear is minimal and not affecting intonation or playability. No separation at the neck heel or at the bridge. We have been through the guitar with a blacklight and a borescope looking for structural issues or signs of previous repair and the only thing noticeable is that the body binding was reglued in several spots. It is re-attached nicely, but you can see where the finish was buffed and worn in these places. This could be touched up if you wanted to pursue it, but it doesn't bother us. You have to look close to see these areas in direct light. I tried to capture them all in the photos...they look worse in the photos than they do in person! There are no cracks and no added cleats. Our meter shows that the guitar has been kept in the proper climate with no signs of improper storage or abuse. It sounds soooooooo sweet, but of course it does! It's lively and has a great punch and projection. This guitar plays and sounds better than just about every other acoustic we have in this category and price range. Taylors from this period are only going up in value and they have become fairly tough to try and find in this condition. The original case is included!
