Hunter Amplifiers - The Keno Monster - Tube Amp Head - 10-watts - Handmade
The mad scientist over at Hunter Amplifiers has done it again! This amp rocks...but all of his do, really. It breaks up in the sweetest of ways, and pushes a 4x12 cab with ease. This amp is a one-of-a-kind, handmade right here in Southern Kentucky! Wrapped in denim!
Some info from the builder:
10-watt head, controls are: (L to R) master volume, tone, and gain. Will accept 6L6GB, 5881, or 6P3S. It has a 6P3S in it right now. 4-ohm or 8-ohm switchable output.
The Keno Monster is a single-ended 10-watt head named after the legendary monster said to live under the railroad bridge in Keno, KY, (where the amp was designed and built). I used only high-quality components, including F&T filter capacitors, Sozo coupling capacitors, CTS potentiometers, Weber and MPS transformers, and Switchcraft jacks. There are only three controls: (L to R) master volume, tone, and gain. It uses a 5U4G rectifier tube and a 12AX7 preamp tube and can use a 6L6GB, 5881, or 6P3S power tube. It comes with a NOS 6P3S tube installed. The output is switchable between 4-ohm or 8-ohms. It's all enclosed in a denim-covered hand-crafted wooden cabinet.
