The Royal Albert Hall 1984 Fender American Standard Precision Bass - Used on Tour and Film by Black Stone Cherry!
For your consideration, a 1983/4 Fender American Standard Precision Bass that was used heavily by Black Stone Cherry bassist, Steve Jewel Jr., on tour and on their 2022 concert film from The Royal Albert Hall!
Let's start with Black Stone Cherry's connection to this bass. This killer bass was in their private studio collection for a bit before seeing quite a bit of use on the road all over the world. In late 2021, the band shot an incredible live concert film at the iconic Royal Albert Hall in London, England. There's no doubt why they chose this bass for studio and stage use...it's a beast, and we're stoked to have acquired it directly from the band. Included with the sale of this bass is an unopened copy of the Black Stone Cherry "Royal Albert Hall, Y'all" concert film on Blueray and 2x CD set. It's a killer live show, one of the best I have ever seen recorded. My favorite part is when this bass make an appearance. How cool is it to play along with the band on literally the same bass that is on the screen?!?!? We restrung the bass, but Steve's used strings are rolled up and included in the sale. We have also included 11 awesome photos of the bass in use on stage (including at RAH) taken by the band's photographer, Sideshot Photography.
On to the bass! Even without the storied past, it's a killer bass. 1983 headstock serial number with a January 13th (Friday the 13th!!!)1984 neck heel date, making it one of the first made in the first year of the American Standard P Bass. The original bridge has been replaced with an authentic Badass II model, a newer pickguard was installed, and the pickups swapped to a nice set of Bartolinis with new pots and MXR-style knobs. The original white-covered American Standard pickups and the original pots with 1983 date codes are included. A brand new pack of Fender flat-top knurled chrome knobs is also included. The bass is otherwise original and in great shape! Freshly setup and restrung, this one is ready for its next tour!
