1962 Kay Archtop Acoustic Guitar - Sunburst - w/ Case
The ol' American department store classic archtop acoustic guitar!
We're fans of these old Kay archtops, and this one is a great example of a true survivor. It has been played but not abused. The pickguard bracket has been replaced and unfortunately relocated. There is a scratch in the neck that we have thoroughly explored to make sure it is just a scratch and not a crack. The guitar overall is in great shape. The truss rod works in both directions, fretwear is minimal and not affecting playability, and the neck is straight. The neck has been reset and the guitar plays fantastic. The sunburst is still vibrant. The guitar has the lo-fi wooly sound with a hint of old cheap guitar jangle that one should expect from one of these. Check out that sweet old case! Finding fully playable examples of these that have survived with this many original parts is getting tougher to do!
