1964 Martin D-28 - Dreadnaught - Brazilian Rosewood w/HSC
A Bluegrass, Country & Rock Classic
Few guitars define American music quite like a mid-1960s Martin D-28—and this 1964 example is exactly what you hope to find when you pick one up.
Built with Brazilian Rosewood back and sides, this is the sound that shaped bluegrass stages, country radio, and countless rock records. Big, dry, powerful, and endlessly musical—the textbook mid-’60s D-28 tone that players chase.
This guitar has clearly seen some honky tonks and bars, and it wears that history proudly. The playwear is honest and authentic, the kind that only comes from decades of real music-making. As we like to say: only the best-sounding guitars get played this much.
Structurally, it’s in very good working order. The bridge has been replaced and the neck has been reset—both repairs performed long ago and holding solid. The guitar plays fantastic, with a straight neck and original frets that still have plenty of life left.
There’s normal wear and tear throughout, consistent with a true workhorse instrument, but no signs of abuse. Just decades of songs.
And yes—there’s already an old rattlesnake tail inside the guitar, included for your convenience and good mojo.
A newer hardshell case is included.
It’s got the look.
It’s got the sound.
And it still has a whole lot of music left in it.
