Ancient Vintage Mystery Banjo - 4-String Tenor - Maple - Resonator - PROJECT - Needs Work
Mystery Banjo!
We acquired this banjo as part of a large pile of old guitars. We didn't find any manufacturer info or serial numbers on it, and since banjos are not our specialty, we decided to let someone else restore it and decide its fate. The neck is straight and made of nicely flamed maple. The tuners appear to be original and work as they should. The nut is missing, but we are including a brand new bone nut blank. One fret is missing.... I have no idea why. The head is old, possibly original, and it not ripped or punctured. The hoop and all hardware appear to be original and in good shape. The resonator back is maple. A wooden bridge and a new metal tailpiece are included, in case you want to use them in the restoration. The head is 11" wide, and the banjo overall is 33-5/8" long.
If you recognize what this banjo is, please let us know! Hopefully you be the one to bring some life back to this one!
