1963 Harmony H37 Hollywood Electric Archtop - Gold
Check out this sweet old electric archtop! The Harmony Hollywood H-37 was a short lived model with a cool metallic gold finish and an Academy Award "Oscar" statue on the headstock. Neat! This one is from 1963. It has had a rough life, but has been given a new shot at making music! A neck reset has been performed to fix the neck angle and a heel that was starting to pull away from the body. There was a gnarly crack in the top that has been cleated and glued back together, as well as the typical Harmony side seam separation occurring in a few spots that have also been reglued back into place. No other structural isses were found. The electronics, including the stock DeArmond GoldFoil pickup, are all original and fully functioning after a good cleaning. Those are the original tuners, nut, frets, tailpiece and Cupcake knobs. A replacement bridge was added and it's a nice improvement over the stock one. The guitar plays well with low action from a complete setup and fresh strings. It growls! Nice, fat, vintage archtop tones from this one!
