1993 Alvarez Dana Scoop AE655CB - Floyd Rose - Tri-Force Bucker - Crimson Burst
One of the wildest and honestly best designs of the late 1900s!
The brainchild of luthier, Dana Sutcliffe, and his team, the Alvarez Dana Scoop was a short-lived futuristic guitar design that has a unique sound and playing experience. The Scoop won Music and Sound Retailer Magazine's coveted Best Guitar award in 1992, and also has a US Patent! Less than 3,000 Alvarez Scoop models were built, spread over around 6 or 7 different variants. This one is an AE655CB in Crimson Burst!
This one has been played, but doesn't show any signs of abuse. There is some normal wear and tear like pick scratches and the occasional ding or scuff, but overall it is in pretty awesome shape. The trem arm has been replaced, but the Floyd Rose is original. The pickups, including the Tri-Force bucker are also original. Several of the rear control cavity screws have been changed, but otherwise it appears to be in original condition. The neck is straight and the truss rod works in both directions. This one is a blast to play! Freshly setup and restrung, it's a fast playing guitar! Fretwear is minimal and not affecting intonation.
Check out the screengrab from Wayne's World, where many guitarists first saw a Dana Scoop, and the cool ad featuring Lita Ford, in the photo section. Rad!
