2005 Fender American Deluxe Stratocaster V-Neck – 2-Tone Sunburst
This is a combination we don’t see very often, and we’re always chasing this era of American Deluxe Fenders.
It delivers all the modern performance upgrades that made the mid-2000s Deluxe line such a strong player: Noiseless pickups, the S-1 switching system tucked into the volume knob, locking tuners, a bone nut, strap-lock-ready buttons, a smooth 2-point tremolo, contoured heel, abalone inlays, and the silver headstock logo. Then Fender ties it all together with some proper 1950s flavor — a 2-Tone Sunburst finish and a comfortable soft V neck carve.
Old meets new. We dig it.
It’s versatile, feels great in hand, looks right, and is built to be stage- and studio-reliable without drifting into Custom Shop pricing. It has all of the new specs Fender introduced for 2005, but it has a December 2004 serial number despite not shipping until January of 2005, making it an early example. Neat!
Condition-wise, this one has low miles and no signs of abuse. There’s typical honest wear for a 20+ year old Strat — a bit of light buckle rash and some surface swirls — but no dings through the finish and no exposed wood. It’s been played, but it’s on the cleaner side of the spectrum for its age.
100% original with no modifications. The neck is straight, fretwear is minimal and not affecting playability or intonation, and the truss rod works properly in both directions. Our Fender-certified shop gave it a full once-over and setup, and everything functions exactly as it should.
The original Fender molded hardshell case and tremolo arm are included.
