This personal touch ensures that each amp is truly a labor of love and craftsmanship, with no kits ever being used in the process. The commitment to handcrafting each amp results in a unique and exceptional product that exudes quality and attention to detail, making Hunter Amplifiers a standout choice for those seeking a handbuilt amp with a personalized touch and exceptional sound quality.
From the builder:
The Keno-Matic is my version of Gretsch's early-60s Electromatic model 6151 Compact Tremolo combo amplifier. I updated the original circuit to include a depth control for the tube-driven tremolo and increased the speaker size from 8 inches to 10 inches for a fuller sound, but otherwise, I've followed the original schematic. It is built in a custom aluminum chassis housed in a handmade pine cabinet. A fantastic amp for practicing in the bedroom, recording in the studio, or putting it behind a microphone and filling a stadium.
