2025 Dunable Asteroid Bass - USA Custom Shop - Satin Tobacco Burst - w/Gig Bag

For your consideration, a 2025 Dunable Asteroid Bass from the USA Custom Shop in Satin Tobacco Burst with gig bag. This bass rocks. We do not get a lot of Dunable instruments through the store, but every time one shows up, we come away impressed. The fit and finish are consistently excellent, the hardware and material choices feel intentional, and the instruments have a substantial, professional feel without becoming clumsy or overbuilt.

This Asteroid is lightweight, well balanced, and seriously powerful sounding. It handles vintage bass tones with ease but has no trouble moving into more modern territory when asked. The Hipshot lightweight tuners help keep the balance right, and the Dunlop straplock-ready buttons are a practical touch. It has been freshly set up and restrung and is playing great with low action. The neck is straight, the truss rod works in both directions, and the fretwork is clean and consistent.

The Satin Tobacco Burst finish is a standout, even in a shop full of unusual finishes. It has a rich, understated look that fits the shape perfectly. The Asteroid is a great modern interpretation of a vintage V-style bass. It shares the overall presence of a Flying V Bass, but the rear body contours make it feel more compact and help it hang more naturally on a strap. Nice touch.

This one has low miles, no signs of abuse, and came to us from a loving home. Many Dunable Custom Shop builds are unique, and we have not been able to find another Asteroid Bass with this same combination of specifications. The Asteroid Bass is also not currently shown among the body options on Dunable’s Custom Shop builder, so finding another may not be simple. Either way, it does not change the important part: this bass slays.
