VVCo Sizzorfite - Handwired Custom Chaos Overdrive Distortion Pedal
For your consideration, a handwired premium pedal from the personal collection and career of pedal builder, Steve Shepard, of Sizzorfite Studios, VVCo, and more!
All pedals from this collection (yes, including this one) have been fully tested. All knobs, jacks, switches, and L.E.Ds work properly. All of the pedals need to be powered with a standard high-quality isolated 9V pedal power source, as there are no battery jacks. You'll have to look at the photos of the pedals to see the condition: there are some paint chips and signs of use on some of them but no signs of abuse. Some have rubber feet on the bottom, and some don't. The vast majority of these pedals have a serial number of 001, some of them are signed on the inside by Steve. None of the knobs are labeled, but they're all pretty easy to figure out, especially when a lot of them are clones of well-known pedals. Some of the pedals have a generic word written on the bottom, like "Fuzz", and only a handful of them have graphics on the front, so we opened every one to look for clues to help narrow down what they are. Thankfully, every circuit board is labeled exactly what they are, and most of the pots have clues Sharpied onto them, like "V" for Volume, and "G" for Gain. That's Steve looking ahead! Many videos exist online of these pedals being demoed and discussed, so if you are chasing down a specific pedal from Steve's career, there is a good chance it is in this pile.
The story:
When we first stumbled upon the wild pedal creations of VVCo in 2022, we were immediately hooked. Handwired high-quality pedals built into scale model Batmobiles, Ghostbuster Ecto-1s, and Deloreans… what’s not to like? We became an Authorized Dealer for the brand and watched as countless people would immediately light up as soon as they found them in our showroom: the exact same reaction we had when we initially learned of the brand, and the exact same reaction we had every time a new box of VVCo pedals would arrive. Joy. It was pure joy. Every time. The A-Team Van, the Smokey and the Bandit Trans Am, the Scooby-Doo Mystery Machine, the Dark Father preamp… the homeruns kept coming from VVCo, and from our perspective, the customer excitement never let up. Of course, these pedals looked awesome and triggered a response in people who “get it”, but behind every cartoonish and silly pedal was an impressive, neatly handwired, thoughtful pedal build. The electronics guru behind these designs was Steve Shepard, who we later learned was also the wizard behind Sizzorfite Studios. Unfortunately, Steve passed away in early 2025. I am disappointed that I never got to meet him in person, and hope that all the praise and excitement our team and our customers shared for his creations made it to him. We reached out to Nik at VVCo to see what we could do to help keep Steve’s passion and memory alive and learned that a large stash of pedals needing homes existed. Arrangements were made, and we took possession of the most bonkers pile of custom-made pedals: there are exact clones of iconic pedals, prototypes, one-offs, and some of Steve’s own clever designs. It’s the life’s work of a prolific pedal builder, and we are honored to offer the entire collection for sale. Most of these pedals are THE prototype of that design, and most of them are hand-signed by Steve. Many of these pedals in this collection were featured and demoed on the Sizzorfite YT channel and discussed on various pedal forums. We’ve really had a blast sorting through this collection and learning about each effect. They’re all winners, they’re all well-built by someone who truly cared, and we know that each one of these is going to be cherished by the new owners. These are special, Steve was special, and we’re thankful for the opportunity to put these into the hands of appreciative players and collectors!
