Hunter Amplifiers - Keno Five - 5-Watt Tube Combo - Green

The Hunter Amplifiers Keno Five is a small amp with a big personality. Built one at a time by hand, this particular example is a one-off in bright green tolex—hard to miss, and impossible to confuse with anything else in the room.

At its core, the Keno Five is inspired by the AA764 Silverface Champ circuit, with a few thoughtful tweaks that give it a little more flexibility and feel. It’s a single-ended, Class A design built around a 6V6 power section and 12AX7 preamp, delivering that familiar Fender-style clarity and breakup, but with a slightly more responsive, lively edge.

Simple controls keep it honest, but there’s a surprising range of usable tones here—from clean and articulate at lower volumes to that gritty, harmonically rich overdrive when you lean into it. It reacts to your touch the way a great small amp should.

Housed in a solid pine cabinet and paired with an 8" Jensen Falcon speaker, it’s lightweight, portable, and a perfect fit for home playing, recording, or small-room use.
