1968 Inter-Mark Cipher Ranger - Japan - Red Sunburst
What's up with Teisco and Kawai hogging all of the attention when we talk about 1960's imports from Japan? There were some other cool brands out there, like Inter-Mark and their Cipher line of guitars. This model, the Cipher Ranger, is the two-pickup model with a pair of rocker switches. Funky shape, chunky neck, lo-fi tones, and all the vintage vibe you could ever need! The neck is straight, the truss rod works in both directions, and the original electronics all work as they should. The guitar has the jangly sound and slinky feel you should expect on a Japanese student model electric from this era. It plays well and has been freshly setup and restrung. The tremolo arm is missing and where it attaches to the bridge appears to be broken. Otherwise, the guitar is in original and working condition.
