1930s Gretsch Student Model Acoustic - Banner
For your consideration, a sweet little old Gretsch student model!
We aren't 100% sure what the actual model number is, so if you know it, please let us know! This comes from the brief window in the 1930s where some Gretsch models came with an inlaid banner headstock badge. The banner is still intact, but it looks like someone may have filed a notch in the top edge of the headstock to give it a more Gibson-like appearance. The guitar has had a neck reset, a bridge reglue, some crack repairs, new tuners, new nut, and it has been resprayed. All of the work happened a long time ago, and all of that is considered to be typical repairs needed on an instrument of this age. The guitar plays great and sounds better than expected. The neck is on the chunkier side, with a soft-V profile. Mahogany back and sided with a Spruce top. It's old, but fully playable, and dripping in mojo!
