1952 Gibson J-50 - Slope Shoulder - Natural - w/Case

For your consideration, a 1952 Gibson J-50 with a newer Gibson hardshell case. This is an honest old survivor and a classic player-grade example of why these early J-series Gibsons remain so easy to love.

The bridge and pickguard have been replaced, while the original tuners are still in place. The guitar has had an old neck reset, along with some top crack repairs and additional back and side crack repairs over the years. There are finish touchups throughout, and the neck has some overspray, but nothing here feels unusual for a well-played 70-plus-year-old acoustic. Importantly, there is no headstock break.

The neck is straight, the truss rod works in both directions, and fretwear is minimal enough that it does not affect intonation or playability. The top is behaving well with no excessive belly bulge, and the guitar is fully playable as it sits.

It has been freshly set up and restrung in our shop with low action. This one has the feel and sound you want from an old J-50 — dry, woody, punchy, and immediately responsive.

A great players-grade vintage Gibson with plenty of life left in it. A newer Gibson hardshell case is included.
