1953 Gibson BR-9 Lap Steel - w/OHSC
For your consideration, a 1953 Gibson BR-9 lap steel with its original tweed hardshell case. We are fans of the BR-9. For somebody already into vintage guitars who wants to start dabbling in lap steel, these are usually our go-to recommendation. They sound great, are easy to find parts and information for, simple to maintain, always look cool, and are still surprisingly affordable for a real vintage Gibson.
This one is in excellent shape and definitely lands on the cleaner end of the spectrum. The tuners have been replaced, but the rest of the instrument remains stock. The pots date to 1953, and the original pickup is still in place and sounds exactly like you hope an old Gibson lap steel should.
It has been freshly set up and restrung in our shop and is ready to play. Simple, great sounding, approachable, and loaded with old Gibson character.
The original tweed hardshell case is included.
