1964 Valco Airline Folkstar - Black - Res-O-Glass Resonator - w/Case

For your consideration, a 1964 Valco Airline Folkstar in Black with original chipboard case. These are some of the coolest oddballs of the era, and this one has all the right stuff. The Folkstar’s Res-O-Glas construction gives it a look and feel that is unlike just about anything else hanging on the wall, and the black Airline version is especially neat since it was the variant sold through Montgomery Ward. If you like old guitars with real personality, this one has it in spades.

This one is in great shape overall and is a blast to play. It has been freshly set up and restrung, the action is low, and there are no cracks in the fiberglass. It sounds great, feels great, and has the kind of fun factor that makes you keep reaching back for it. The original chipboard case is included, and the only obvious missing original piece is the headstock badge.

There are a pair of small holes where a neck-position pickup had been mounted at some point in the past, along with another pair of holes on the lower bout that appear to have been for wiring to an output jack or possibly a volume control. Beyond that, everything that is there appears to be original and in very nice shape. The original owner etched their phone number or social security number or something near the neck attachment bolts. 

A very cool old Airline with the right look, the right feel, and a lot of charm.
