1999 Ibanez RG7421 7-String Cherry Fudge w/ Hardshell Case

The 1999 Ibanez RG7421 in Limited Edition Cherry Fudge color combines the slick, classic RG shape with a unique and eye-catching finish. This model was a Guitar Center exclusive, with only a single run made, making it a sought-after piece for collectors and players alike. The Cherry Fudge color is quite awesome...it's one of those rare colors that needs to be seen in person to really understand. You see, Cherry and Fudge are both great descriptions of the color, but if we had to pick 13 more words to describe the color, they would be: Bronze, Pink, Mirror, Rose, Gold, Rose Gold, Magic, Brown, Champagne, Chocolate Bar, Filthy Penny, Burgundy Mist, and maybe Old Teapot. My point is, it's a weird color. It's definitely an eye catcher, and dare we say... unexpected. We've got 200 something guitars crammed into a 900 sqft guitar shop and this one stands our from across the room. 

This RG7421 features a hardtail bridge and has been tastefully upgraded with a very nice set of Gotoh Magnum locking tuners, and a pair of Seymour Duncan Distortion 7-string pickups. Those are a great choice for this guitar! The volume pot and 5-way switch are original, but we just replaced the failing tone pot.  There are some minor dings and dents, and a few tiny paint chips, but overall the guitar is pretty clean for being 25 years old and rocking as hard as it does. The guitar has low miles and shows no signs of abuse, with a straight neck and a truss rod that works in both directions. The truss rod cover is missing. The fretwear is minimal and does not affect intonation or playability. Freshly setup and restrung, it offers low action for a smooth and comfortable playing experience. The guitar comes with an aftermarket ESP hardshell case that, while worn, works great for protecting this rare instrument.  I've got to tell you, I haven't been this stoked for an Ibanez or a 7-string in a very long time, and this has been a really nice guitar to have here in the store. This one took me straight back to my Nu-Metal days!
