This 2012 The Lafferty LF5BWN F-style mandolin was handmade as part of the small-run instruments produced through The Mandolin Store, with the Lafferty line representing their take on traditional American-style mandolins built with professional players in mind. These were not factory churned instruments—they were carefully built pieces intended to compete with high-end vintage-style mandolins.

One of the standout features on this example is the wide neck configuration, measuring 1-3/16" at the nut. That extra breathing room makes a noticeable difference for players who prefer a little more space for clean fretting and accurate picking. Wide-neck examples like this weren’t produced in large numbers, especially paired with the natural finish, making this a somewhat uncommon configuration within the Lafferty lineup.
