For your consideration, a brand new Hunter Amplifiers 2-Face Champ, handmade one at a time right here in South Central Kentucky. 

Bob Hunter started with the basic single-ended Champ recipe and built in two independently switchable circuit stages that let you move between 5F1 Tweed and AA764 Black Panel behavior, or mix the two together. One switch changes the first gain stage and signal path, taking you from the rawer, more direct Tweed side to the cleaner, scooped Black Panel tone-stack path. The second changes the bias structure and negative feedback, shifting the feel from tighter and more controlled to looser and more organic.

Flip both switches one way for one era, both the other way for the other, or start mixing the stages. That is where this little amp gets really fun. You are not just choosing between two preset voices — you can build hybrid combinations that land somewhere between the familiar Tweed and Black Panel camps. The Ultimate Champ! 

Inside, it is true point-to-point construction built cleanly around a pair of tag strips with short wire runs. Components include JJ tubes, Vishay coupling caps, MOD electrolytics, and Switchcraft jacks. The cabinet is hand-built from finger-jointed white pine, wrapped in Fender Brown Tolex, and loaded with an 8-inch Jensen Special Design speaker.

Compact, simple, incredibly responsive, and far more flexible than a traditional Champ. This is one of those little amps that makes you forget you are playing through an 8-inch speaker.
