Hunter Amplifiers Deluxe Reverb Tube Combo - Blackface - Handwired
After years of maintaining, modifying, and repairing a wide range of vintage to modern Fender Deluxe Reverb amps, and after building a bunch of custom amps with various Deluxe Reverb-inspired features, one gets a good sense of what makes a Deluxe Reverb tick, and a clear understanding of what separates the great examples from the rest. What if you took all of that experience and built a Deluxe Reverb to rule them all?
Presenting, the first ever traditional black panel Deluxe Reverb combo build from Hunter Amplifiers! It's the classic amp we all love built with a focus on quality components, modern reliability, and a few tonal enhancements that make it stand out against the rest. This is a serious amp that is going to bring some serious smiles to some lucky player, and we're stoked to offer it for sale to our customers! Handmade with love, right here in South Central Kentucky!
All the great stuff that makes a 1960s "blackface" Deluxe Reverb, but with the added attention to detail and love and care that come from this workshop. The only outsourced parts in this build are a MojoTone cabinet kit and matching chassis, the rest was all hand-selected, hand-populated, and built from scratch using quality parts. It's essentially Fender's final version of the AB763 circuit with great guts: Hammond transformers, MOD and F&T electrolytics, Vishay MKT1813 coupling and tone caps, Switchcraft jacks, Carling switches, Alpha and CTS pots, Belton tube sockets, JJ tubes, and a Warehouse G12C 12" speaker. The ground switch, which was not necessary to include in a modern build due to proper grounding and a 3-prong power cable, was updated to be a NFB, or Negative Feedback switch which allows users to toggle a circuit that reduces distortion and stabilizes the amps sound by feeding a portion of the output signal back into the input. Engaging the NFB switch typically results in a smoother, tighter sound, while disengaging it can lead to a more raw, aggressive tone with increased distortion. Your off-the-shelf Fender Handwired Deluxe doesn't do that! Anyone can buy a Fender Deluxe, but a true connoisseur recognizes how awesome this amp is. Stand out from everyone else and get yourself something special!
